Green Sites (Plymouth) aims to enable small businesses and individuals – especially those promoting green and alternative lifestyles - to establish an attractive, professional-looking web presence.
By browsing the pages of this site you will gain an insight into what tools and methods I use to build a web site. With some effort on your part, you should soon be in a position to set up a site entirely on your own.
If you prefer to avoid the learning curve this involves and save time, you can contract me to do the work for you.
OUR TERMS
For an inital one-off fee of £150, I offer the following services to small businesses and individuals locally and throughout the UK:
- assistance with domain registration and hosting
- free telephone support in the UK throughout the process
- provision of a Content Management System (CMS), powered by Wordpress, allowing you to take full control of the content of the finished site
- an initial template (the default template provided by Wordpress)
Finalisation:
- once you have populated your dummy site, I will design a personalised template and publish your site on your explicit instructions.
In the case of more complex sites, projects may be partially sub-contracted to trusted partners of Green Sites. It will take longer to publish your finished site and there will be a surcharge, of which you will be notified in advance.

AFTER-SALES SERVICE
After a web site has been set up to the customer’s satisfaction, the customer takes full responsibility for adding and editing content. Please, note that this does require a good understanding of using a computer and the Internet.
If you decide that you need post-set-up support, this is charged at £20 per hour and can include any of the following services:
- full tuition how to manage your site using Wordpress
- managing your site on an ‘as-and-when’ basis (by invoice) in accordance with your instructions
- fixed monthly fee by negotiation
WHO WE ARE
Green Sites (Plymouth) is managed by a sole-trader. Should you ask me to undertake web work for you, you deal with just one person who will look after your requirements on an individual basis.
This site is intended to be a resource for anyone wishing to establish a low-cost Internet presence. Your feedback on the content, particularly where it needs clarification, is essential in order to serve you best. The more basic your questions, the more useful they are at this development stage.
